13 versus Victor
Today was the weirdest day of my life so far, and it’s not over yet!
As I was saying in my previous posts, I love animals and that’s why I have at home 2 hamsters and 1 cat. Ebola, the oldest hamster, lives in a perfectly safe cage, while Victor lives in a small bowl, that resembles an aquarium, the one Americans use for their golden fish. The cat, 13, lives everywhere it wants.
Until today, 13 always attempted to catch Ebola, since the cage is very big and transparent and sees the hamster very often. It completely ignored Victor. Today, something happened J.
While I was sleeping, I noticed that the cat was much more active than usual and kept running back and forth hysterically. I thought it was its regular morning gymnastics, and I ignored it. After a while, the cat became more and more hysterical and agitated and I got scared because now it focused on the cables and I decided to put an end to whatever 13 was doing. When I got close to the place 13 was, I was shocked! 13 was chasing Victor, my hamster, for the past hour. The poor guy was under shock, stressed like hell and trembling its ears out! At that point I didn’t know what to do: stop the cat from killing the hamster, stop the hamster from chewing the cables… well, I stopped Victor, I managed to catch him and I placed him back to his bowl. I’ve hidden the bowl to a safe place and then I checked the other hamster. Ebola was doing just fine, sleeping like a baby.
13, in return, was in a terrible condition. It was exhausted, I have never seen a cat so tired in my life. He probably chased Victor for more than 1 hour without stopping and now he just couldn’t stay on his feet, his heart was beating incredibly fast, I was quite scared. I fed him, give him some water and he fell asleep right away. Did that with Victor too and now I will definitely buy a new cage for Victor. If I kill another hamster i don’t think I could take it…
The funniest thing was Tibi’s reactions. He asked me: “oh c’mon, haven’t you ever watched cartoons? Don’t you know that cats and hamsters don’t get along?”
Well, apparently I have to be special and I have to have them both. One thing is for sure: you can never be bored in our house J)

antistar
It happened, i met him, i met the voice that drove me insane when i was a child, the voice i can recognise in a 1000. That voice.
We talked about cats, milan, football, cocaine, italy, comunism and traveling. He made me feel like i was important to him, and maybe i was, even if only for that night.
As time goes by, the magic vanishes, i come back on earth, i remember the smile and i can still feel the warmth in his hug.
I’m usually so afraid of not making a fool out of myself in front of people i appreciate that i rather shut up for hours than say something stupid. This time i talked without worring. I didn’t care. At this time, he already forgot about me, so how can i feel embarrasses if i did nothing, if i don’t exist?
Now, when all became clear, i went back to my crazy, and yet so boring life, thinking... that’s as much as i can get. Can’t complain, i don’t need more, I met THAT voice.
Kinda depressing, right? Well, i’ve always said that i’m a simple girl, all i needed was a voice :)

Massive Attack issues
I found out a few days ago that massive attack will be playing in Romania on 2nd of august. I've been waiting for this moment since i was 13 or 14 years old. Back then i thought i was able to make music and i was part of a band. I was the main vocal. HAHAHA. Picture that. Obviously, my singing sucks and eventually i had to leave that band. But during that experience the guy that i use to work with was a huge massive attack fan. He was the first man to show me this band. The first single I’ve listened from massive attack was angel. I still remember the album cover, a very simple and black one, with a huge and weird bug on it. Even if i was pretty much intro electronic music back then, i wasn't so familiar with down tempo, trip hop or dub, just because the only music i had access to was very hard techno, trance, goa and lots of junk music. All of my friends were listening to very depressing rock and they used to laugh at my musical “likenesses”. I needed just a second from angel to realize that it will be the track that will change my musical style and my hole perception of music. This song leaded the way intro music. Once you listen to angel and you do understand it and you do like it, then it's no turning back. After angel i discovered mezzanine. I was madly in love with dissolved girl, teardrop and especially inertia creeps. I don't really know why i love this song so much, i still don't know, and i'm happy not knowing.Massive attack actually changed my life, change me as a human being. My hole childhood is based on these aggressive guitars and rhythms sinths and especially those deep and powerful voices. Not to mention the lyrics. I haven't listened to massive attack in more than 3 years and yet i remember every single lyric from mezzanine album. After massive attack followed portishead, the chemical brothers, daft punk, fatboy slim, in that particular order, but nothing can ever compare to these British geniuses.I can't say that i have too many friends in this life. If i think well, i have none, except my boyfriends' friends. I still wonder how i managed to have a boyfriend since I’m the nr. One sociopath in the world and yes, I am way over the emo-age. the only man that reminds me of my massive attack times, of my techno and rave times is now a brilliant photographer which i see once every 6 months and yet, all i have to do is look at him and he knows what i'm thinking. All i have to say is angel, and he knows. I guess that music, but only good music, really brings people together.Thursday, June 26, 2008

This track was released a few months ago on groove ++ recordings and is available on ww.djdownload.com. Sandscape fits perfectly the F Com style but since it’s very difficult to release something with them, we released it on groove ++.Today Planetarium EP will be released on Craft Music – Great Stuff Recordings, the latest OK Corral EP.

13
I found this kitten on the street three days ago. It was very hurt so i taken it to a doctor. The poor guy was either hit by a car of fell of the roof of the house. After three days of treatment he is doing just fine. It has three broken legs, but since it only has two months it will heal by them selves. I can’t keep it because I already have a dog and 2 hamsters and.. as much as I’d love to keep it, it’s impossible. If i won’t find somebody i can trust with 13 (that's how i named the kitten) than I’ll keep it in my office. I love it too much :)
Enjoy 13!

Pets pets pets
As I was saying when I first started to write on this blog, I love everything that moves and has a fur: cats, dogs, hamsters, squirrels and much more. I even love fishes, hippos (which I still think they are peaceful animals), big cats (they fit the small/furry category anyhow J), and so on.
My fest real pet was Lisa, a very white, evil and fun cat. I still have it and it’s still my number one pet. But, a few more pets have made room into my life. My boyfriend’s dog, Jimmy, for example, it’s amazing. Jimmy is one of the funniest dogs I have ever seen. He is very afraid of cats and tiny dogs but he loves chasing and barking at very, very, big dogs. The fun part is the when he is struggling to bark and annoy the big dog, the poor guy looks kind of weird at him, almost thinking: man, this little guy here is as big as my tail, what does he expect? So, everybody is ok, Jimmy barks, other dogs ignore it, some start chasing him and cats will always make him very scared. That’s why I had to live Lisa at my parents. And, because I felt so very sorry that I don’t have a pet of my own at V’s place, I bought some.. pets. J
A few months ago, in October – November if I’m not wrong, after I saw a nice show on pets on tv I said I had to gave a guinea pig. I went to the pet shop to get one, but unfortunately all that they had we’re two tiny hamsters – Roborovski. I was so desperate in buying something alive, I didn’t think much and I just bought them.
I uploaded some pictures of them on the blog, a few posts behind.
The sad part of the hamsters live is… the death of Lola, one of the hamsters. When I clean their cage, I usually place them in a small aquarium, but this time it was special because one of them was already living in the aquarium because they had a huge fight a week ago. I had to place one in the aquarium and one in the bathtub. The one in the bathtub… Lola that is, after I finished cleaning the cage I lifted it and Lola climbed on it, but on the bottom of the cage. I did not see it climbing and hanging of the bottom of the cage and I believed that it simply escaped from the bathtub inside the house. I left the cage down and I started searching for it. After a few minutes of searching I lifted the cage again and I saw it. It was dead. I killed it with its cage. It was a very depressing and terrifying moment. I cried for two days. It was a very cold windy winter night. All the streets were covered in snow and I just wanted to bury her, I couldn’t throw it away just like that. I made a small coffin out of a box where Tibi’s father kept his transistors, spelled Lola’s name on it and a few best wishes and we went to the park to bury it. At the park we asked the guardian to allow us to bury it, and he was kind enough to do it. While we were burying Lola some other guardian started screaming at us because we were destroying the park. My hamster is 4 cm long and he was very drunk. He wanted to give us a ticket but eventually Tibi and Adi convinced him that my 4 cm hamster had couldn’t possibly destroy the park.
Since tomorrow is my birthday, my best friend from childhood, Mirela, thought it was more that ok to get me a nice gift. She got me another hamster. I named him Victor, don’t really know why, his face seems like a Victor one. He is the smallest hamster I have ever seen in my life. Is not even half of Ebola, my other hamster.
I think they are getting along very well, they’ve socialized in the bathtub, they even shared the same wooden house and they didn’t start a fight. They were fooling around a little bit but nothing too suspicious. I’m still a bit afraid that they will kill each other and I’m not keeping them in the same cage if I’m not home to separate them in case they do start a fight.
So, I can’t wait to go home and put them together again and look at them playing for hours J.
I’m really happy with my new hamster! He rules! J - Pictures soon! J

Future dreams
While I was having a conversation with a friend I realized that we live in 2008. Nothing unusual so far. When we started talking about the future and 2010 came into the conversation I got very confused.
When I was young, only nine or ten years old, I watched Star Trek like a maniac. I was fascinated. I loved their outfits, Data was incredibly funny – and he still is – and the fact that they could teleport was amazing. Growing up with Gene Roddenberry’s movies can have a huge impact on your life as a child, no doubt about it. Star Trek, as Star Wars, teaches you, as a child, in a very subtle way, what are the real priorities in life. They teach you how to separate the good things and a good judgment from a bad one. Star Trek has a very powerful view on the future, a very optimistic one. The future, in Gene’s eyes, is how it actually should be. I’m not talking about the flying cars, and the space ships and traveling with the speed of light, I’m referring to the mentality that people should have in 200 years from now. The sad part is that we are approaching very fast those years Gene dreamt about in Star Trek and unfortunately things aren’t like that at all. I remember one episode from the first series, the one with Kirk (I think so, It was long ago). They found a strange vessel in space with three or four people trapped inside that vessel. They were very ill during life time and decided to get frozen and be thrown into space, so they could be discovered after hundreds of years, when they could have a chance of healing their diseases. That eventually happened and when they were found, they couldn’t believe that they were alive after hundreds of years. They were cured by the wonderful doctor on board, the funnies doctor alive, J and apparently everything was ok. BUT… they did not understand that they were now living in a world where cancer was eradicated, AIDS as well, hunger, wars and money were not the major problems of the earth. Earth was now a place where everybody lived in peace, without thinking about financial issues and about diseases. Some of them understood, or at least were enough open-minded to try to understand the new world they live in, except one. After the doctor healed his terrible illness, all he could think about was his bank account and his clients. Even if everybody tried to explain to him that every single person he knew was dead he couldn’t believe it. So, eventually he was beamed down to Earth and that was the end of it. We still don’t know how that guy managed with his new… life, but the idea is that the Earth is not at all heading into that king of life. Unfortunately, we still lie in a world controlled by guns, wars, irresponsible leaders (Bush), money and most of all, hunger and extremely complicated diseases. Not to mention that we are actually killing out planet by using cars and cars and cars and polluting it.
I wish I could be born somewhere in 2400 year, so I could see the next technological revolution. I wish I’ll see flying cars, no gas emissions, suspended buildings, clean oceans and especial, space ships. I’d love to travel in space. I heard that Americans are trying to built some elevators in space, so people could travel into space by elevators. I hope I won’t die before I get to see that finished.

Sorry for writing so much nonsense and for my spelling/grammar. That’s why I made this blog in the first place, to improve my English, so feel free to correct me at anytime.
Sebastien Tellier is competing for Eurovision
Techno artists are strange, very strange. Some of them wear weird outfits and perform live acts using only a PSP (Jori Hulkkonen). Some make demented videos that involved Indian people (Laurent Garnier). Meanwhile, even if their actions are… let’s say, unusual, their music remains the same and people still dance on it and everything is cool. BUT, when we talk about French weirdos like Mr. Oizo or Sebastien Tellier, things change. I’ve just discovered a track he made soon after Flat Beat, and I thought it was made in 2008. His sound is unique and simply insane. The main idea is that in this track, at a certain point, the rhythm changes completely, and from a very classic 4/4 techno it becomes …hip hop. He is one of the most inspired artists in dance music and I may say that he is one of my favorite producers ever. Sebastien Tellier is, also, freaky. He released not long ago a track called Divine. It’s not techno, it’s not house, it’s not.. anything. It’s more close to pop that to electronic music, but since we live in a time when everything is electronic, he fits the profile. The thing it that he made this track for Eurovision, a very lame European competition. Romania always tried to win this contest but ofcourse that our lame composers have no chance. They simply suck. Except Moga and a few more that have talent and try to make something special, the rest of them are incredibly stupid and boring. I just don’t understand how this extraordinaty producer wants to participate at Eurovision. I just don’t get it. Laurent Garnier was asked by a magazine what he feels on this matter, and he said that he hopes Sebastien will win the competition.
So, here we are, in 2008, with Sebastien Tellier, one of the most talented electronic music producers competing for Eurovision. Hell must have frozen.
I hope he wins!

23rd of May - Robert Moog's birthday
On 23rd of May 1934 Robert Mood was born. He died in 2005, unfortunately. This guy invented the greatest synthesizer in the world: Moog.
In 1953 at age 19, Robert Moog founded his first company, R.A. Moog Co., to manufacture theremin kits. During the 1960s, the company was employed to build modular synthesizers based on Moog's designs.
In 1972 Moog changed the company's name to Moog Music. Throughout the 1970s, Moog Music went through various changes of ownership, eventually being bought out by musical instrument manufacturer Norlin. Poor management and marketing led to Moog's departure from his own company in 1977.
In 1978 after leaving his namesake firm, Moog started making electronic musical instruments again with a new company, Big Briar. Their first specialty was theremins, but by 1999 the company expanded to produce a line of analog effects pedals called moogerfoogers. In 1999, Moog partnered with Bomb Factory to co-develop the first digital effects based on Moog technology in the form of plugins for Pro Tools software.
Despite Moog Music's closing in 1993, Robert Moog did not have the rights to market products using his own name throughout the 1990s. Big Briar acquired the rights to use the Moog Music name in 2002 after a legal battle with Don Martin who had previously bought the rights to the name Moog Music. At the same time, Moog designed a new version of the Minimoog called the Minimoog Voyager. The Voyager includes nearly all of the features of the original Model D in addition to numerous modern features

10 reasons why you should listen to Radio Gguerrilla
1. They are the only ones promoting Portishead's latest album – Third
2. It’s the ONLY Romanian station that played Jamie Lidell (Multiply if you want to know which track exactly)
3. They are not afraid to play U2 – One at 10:30 in the morning
4. They care about the environment.
5. They brought back on air Zona Libera – the weirdest radio show ever made in Romania
6. They had a campaign where the guys from the management of radio guerrilla were dressed only in a pink fur coat, as shepherds. The catchword was: radio cu …oaie (if you don't speak romanian you can't really understand. e-mail me for explanation - raluca@fwdagency.ro :).
7. I found out on Radio Guerrilla that Curb Your Enthusiasm is on HBO on Saturdays.
8. Radio Guerrilla is the only radio station that resembles Pig Radio – Italy.
9. Eliberadio has the best website in Romania.
10. Almost nobody listens to it.

ok corral - planetarium ep
Because i saw on extreme tracking that i have new visitors on the blog, visitors that checked out my blog because they searched on the internet ok corral, i have to say a few things about this project.
OK Corral is a Romanian based project made by Vania and Thornado, two DJs from Romania which are currently listed in the dj rooster of the booking agency I work for – Forward Agency. They also manage their own record label, groove ++, and their first release was on groove++, called Anakin ep. The second one will be out on 4th of June @ Great Stuff Recordings – Craft Music – Craft 034. Planetarium EP contains three tracks: Concerto, Planetarium and Eartrain. This is their first release on vinyl, as groove ++ releases digital only.
Also, one of their tracks will be included on a great stuff compilation that will come out very soon. It’s a huge surprise and i can’t say anything at this time, but i will very very soon.
If you want to listen to their tracks, see photos or for any other informartion check out http://www.myspace.com/ookcorral!
